Let's start a brand new habit :
every Wednesday I will pick an icon in modern design and see how it fits in different interiors and styles.
The first one is the Arne Jacobsen Swan Lounge Chair™, designed in 1958 for the lobby and lounge areas at the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.
At that time, the Swan was a technologically innovative chair because it had no straight lines but only curves.
Half a century later, we can still find it in modern interiors and it keeps on being a real source of inspiration.

I thought a short video about the making of this beautiful chair could be the best way to end this first chapter on Design Icons.
I'd love to know if you liked it
♥

Hey! Love the idea of having a "design icon" briefing every Wednesday! And I have a lot to learn! I have a question about the chair: have you ever tried it? how did it feel? xxx nsj
RépondreSupprimerHappy happy you liked it :-) I tried it once and it IS comfortable, it wraps you up ... and I swear this is not a sponsored post ;-) Bon après-midi. bises xxx
SupprimerLove the Swan chair, but also love the Egg. My favourite is the one in black leather. Beautiful and timeless. By the way thanks for the link on facebook, will check it out. xx
RépondreSupprimerGeraldine, do you want the truth? I definitely prefer the Egg one, but I thought I could keep it for a further post ;-)
SupprimerThe pics on the link I sent you aren't great quality but they show you the project and I think it is a remarkable idea that should be developed elsewhere as well ... let me know what you think about it. xx
What a great idea Ilaria, I will be making sure that I visit for you new column, you know I recognise that chair in a lot of photo's but I NEVER knew what it was called! so thank you. Take care. xD
RépondreSupprimerI am happy it is useful :-) Blogging is a weird dimension when you post something you love but always guessing if other people think it does bring something new. Have a great week-end Doris xx
